It's out on the web!
Well, is wasn't easy. I've been through many projects since Pen Factori 1, and none have made it close to any step that could be considered a "final step". Looking back this this game, it's not really a great game. Sure, it's light years ahead of the first game, but still not great. But, this game's greatness comes from something more important to me: the fact that I actually finished something. There were times where I almost dropped the project, just like the last dozen. But, I pushed through the scope creep and got it done.
So, hindsight being 20/20, what did I learn? Although it sucks to start and drop so many games and projects, it's nothing to lose sleep over. Honestly without the experience of working on those diverse, and often too difficult, failed projects, I probably wouldn't be able to finish this game like I did today. Sometimes you just gotta let projects die. But, sometimes you also gotta push through and finish some. The problem is, when should you push through or not? Heck if I know, this game would be out a lot sooner if I knew!
So, I say goodbye, feeling good that I got to publish another game, and I hope you struggling game developers out there get to experience this too. Better sooner than later.
